This was our first project in Art Survey, where we wrote our name and designed it to be meaningful to us. I designed mine to look like mountains because I'm a very outdoorsy person and love to see things outside of screens. Everyone had a different way to express themselves by mainly using vibrant colors.
Sketchbook Creative Challenges
These were all of my creative challenges with using different objects to draw along with different colors. I used a ruler to create lines and then decided to color them with a plethora of colors. I then used circular shaped things to create different sized overlapping circles. I freehanded squares and rectangles and in one rectangle, I wrote important things to me. The last photo was of different sized watercolored circles.
Sketchbook Cover Design
This is my Art Survey workbook cover, made from clippings from different magazines to reflect who we are. I chose animals from the forest along with farm animals and bees because those are things that are important to me. I've always loved all animals and these are some clipping of some that I found and decided to put together.
Calder Inspired Standing Mobile
We each made a Calder Inspired sculpture, using recyclable materials. This was probable the hardest project because you had to make things balance using different materialist different weights. The objects also had to be colored, of which was no easy task since marker doesn't like to stick to plastic.
Perspective Drawing
We drew a picture in perspective, you can see things getting smaller as they get further away. I chose to draw this because many people draw things in squares, but that's not truly how they appear, unless you look at them from an overhead view. Objects get smaller the further away you are.
Perspective Painting
We created a perspective painting, this made things look as if they disappeared in the distance. A road is a good example of something that looks as if it disappears in the distance, but it really continues on and on. everything has a beginning, but not everything has an end.
Ceramic Mug
This is my ceramic mug, it was a long creating process, and it ended up breaking in the end. This was probably my favorite project because we could make any face we decided, and I chose a pig because I am, after all, a farm girl. It is very disappointing that it broke, but this is a project that I would do again with a few modifications.
Face Study Choice Project
We drew different facial features from different people and put them together in a fun, creative way. We used different materials to make a textured background, and I decided to add mountains because we live in Montana of which is surrounded by mountains. I wanted it to reflect Montana in a way, and I think the background does just that.
Stencil Pattern Text MixedMedia
This was our last project where we printed a picture of ourself and cut it out until it looked like a facial stencil. We sprayed it with paint over the backgrounds we created. It was a long process of cutting and tracing, but it turned out rather well.
